Hi, I’m Blake Cadwell, co-founder of Soundly.com. Soundly was born out of my personal hearing journey—one that I suspect many of you might relate to.

Blake Cadwell, Co-Founder of Soundly.com

In 2020, I decided it was time to treat my hereditary hearing loss. Like many others, I had waited years, hesitant and unsure about the process. But when I dove in, I was met with an unexpected reality: the search for hearing aids was confusing, overwhelming, and frustrating.

I found myself sifting through a maze of options—huge variations in prices, care models, and technology levels—all without a clear roadmap. Even as someone comfortable navigating online research, I spent countless hours just trying to figure out which way was up.

It didn’t take long to realize how many others must be stuck in this same cycle, unsure where to start or whom to trust.

That experience stayed with me. I knew there had to be a better way, so I teamed up with some incredibly talented audiologists and industry experts to create soundly.com. Our goal was simple: to make the first hours of hearing aid research simpler, clearer, and better.

Fast forward to today, and I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come. Soundly has grown into one of the most trusted online resources for hearing health. Last year, over 2 million people visited our site to access hundreds of expert articles, robust product reviews, comparison tools, and our award-winning hearing test. Soundly has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, AARP, CNET, Forbes, Fortune and others.

From Research to Shopping and Care: Why Soundly Launched a Virtual Clinic

Soundly sells and services six brands of OTC hearing aids in 2025.

As Soundly’s audience grew, one question kept coming up: Could Soundly offer direct care and service instead of simply referring people elsewhere?

The question made sense. Our readers weren’t just seeking reviews and recommendations—they wanted a trusted place to purchase devices and receive ongoing care. For many, Soundly felt like the natural choice for both guidance and action.

In 2024, we took the next step by launching our virtual clinic, specializing in over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids. Instead of offering every OTC product on the market, we curated a selection of top options, covering a variety of styles and price points. Each product is rigorously vetted for quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction—and backed by Soundly’s exclusive shopping perks and dedicated care team.

Soundly offers hearing aids from six leading brands through our service program, along with unique benefits that set our shopping experience apart:

  1. Personalized Expert Consultation: Not sure where to begin? Our team can review your hearing test and provide tailored recommendations. Helping thousands of individuals in this way has been one of the most rewarding parts of our work.
  2. Complimentary Setup Calls: Every purchase includes a free one-on-one setup call with an audiologist. This level of support is rare in the OTC market, where most customers are left to figure out device setup on their own.
  3. Price Drop Protection: We guarantee you get the best price, even if discounts pop up after your purchase.
  4. Consumer-Friendly Policies: All devices come with a no-hassle return policy and at least a one-year warranty for peace of mind.

While Soundly’s virtual clinic is currently focused on OTC hearing aids—best suited for those with mild to moderate hearing loss—we also help connect individuals with severe hearing loss to a network of trusted audiologists who provide predictable pricing and high-quality care.

Many of our customers tell us that purchasing hearing aids through Soundly feels entirely different from buying OTC products at a big-box store. At Soundly, hearing health is our sole focus, and we take immense pride in the care and attention we offer to our customers.

Building a Community That Inspires and Educates

At Soundly, our mission goes beyond simplifying hearing aid research and purchases—we’re also dedicated to giving back to the hearing health community through creative projects and outreach. These initiatives allow us to bring attention to hearing health in fresh, engaging ways and to make a meaningful impact.

Inside The Ear

One project we’re especially proud of is our Inside the Ear video series. In this collaboration, our audiology team partnered with a talented animator to create visual, educational videos that bring the inner workings of the ear to life. These animations help viewers understand what hearing loss, tinnitus, and even earwax look like inside the ear, turning complex topics into clear, accessible visuals. These videos have been watched millions of times across social media, featured on public television, and even integrated into university coursework.

Roblox Hearing Aids

We’ve also taken hearing health into unexpected spaces. We recently launched a project that brought hearing aids to Roblox, the leading online gaming platform for kids in the United States. While Roblox previously offered over 1,000 glasses for game characters, it had no imaginative hearing aid options. Soundly gathered some talented designers to design imaginative hearing aids that players can add to their avatars’ outfits. This effort not only normalizes hearing aids but also celebrates them as an integral part of self-expression.
