Dr. Melissa Alexander is a native Angeleno with a distinctly stylish and personable practice in Santa Monica. She spent several years at House Ear Clinic before opening her practice in 2017. In addition to excellent patient care, Alexander also works with nonprofits to provide affordable or free hearing care to those in need.
Alexander has a 5-star rating on both Yelp and Google with a combined 100+ reviews. Two reviews that stood out in my research:
She is so caring about her clients and genuinely will do absolutely anything for her clients. I had a horrible experience with an audiologist and after I met with her I instantly felt comfortable and supported.
Being a sound professional my hearing is particularly important. Melissa Alexander has over and over gone out if her way to outfit me with the most state of the art hearing aids. Carefully adjusting them and tweaking them until I was hearing comfortably and could trust that what I hear is accurate.

#3. Towers Audiology - West Hollywood
Towers Audiology has operated from the Cedar Sinai medical building in West Hollywood for 15 years and has developed a reputation for excellence and personal care. Dr. Michelle Sherman started her career in Miami FL, where she worked with a prominent ENT and Neuro-otology practice and ultimately made her way to CA and took over Towers Audiology from a retiring hearing health veteran.
Towers Audiology has 40+ 5-star reviews on Yelp and Google. These two reviews capture the sentiment:
Michele is a brilliant audiologist and has such a kind and caring disposition. She is a master of her craft. Dora at the front desk was wonderful as well and was able to squeeze me into the schedule at a time when I had an emergency hearing issue after a car accident.
Dr. Sherman is absolutely wonderful. Thorough, understanding and professional.
She explains everything in a kind and understanding way. She works towards finding the best solution for your hearing issues.
#4. Kirsch Audiology - Santa Monica
Dr. Steven Kirsch has over 20 years of experience in hearing healthcare and provides a wide range of services from counseling to ear cleaning, tinnitus care, and hearing aid programming. He and his partner have also spent significant time abroad providing hearing care to underserved communities through the Starkey Foundation.
Dr. Kirsch’s thoughtful and kind approach earns glowing reviews from customers. Kirsch Audiology has 35+ reviews across Yelp and Google with an average 5-star rating. Some standout reviews:
This is your guy! I went to a number of different places before choosing to stick with Dr. Kirsch and I'm so glad I did. On a practical level, he was able to work with my small budget and I'm really happy with the hearing aid I got.
I've sent my mom, my best friends dad, and many others to Stephen for hearing aids and they've all had similarly wonderful experiences.
From the moment I met him I felt comfortable, there was never any pressure. He was patient and I felt he really cared about my needs. I told him I was hearing aid phobic and embarrassed to wear them. He showed me a pair so small that anybody would have to look really hard at to see them.
#5. The Hearing Station - Glendale
The Hearing Station is a family operation run by a husband and wife team. Ellen Nathan is a licensed hearing instrument specialist who was inspired and motivated by her own hearing loss. This down-to-earth clinic gets top reviews for all the things you might associate with a family business; above and beyond service, personal touch, and no-nonsense prices.
The Hearing Station currently has more than 80 5-star reviews on Google and Yelp. Some highlights:
This is one of those businesses you cannot judge by the cover. Wonderful people run this little hearing aide station. They went above and beyond helping me with a repair. Thanks again.
If you want competent, appropriate care and don't want the big bureaucratic/chain vendor rigamarole, this is the place to go. A bonus - the price was very reasonable.
Simply the best , not just a business, but caring friends. Phillip does the scheduling and Ellen does the hearing aid testing. Ellen herself has used hearing aids since her youth and therefore has first hand experience.
