About Soundly
i

Soundly is an independently owned hearing health research tool. Our reviews are conducted by hearing aid wearers and audiologists. We physically review the leading hearing aids on the market for sound quality, comfort, durability, and more. Our review process starts with hands-on unboxing and days, weeks, or months of wear. We also record live sound demos using a calibrated binaural microphone (read more here). We experiment with backend fitting software for prescription products and use test box measures to measure prescriptive accuracy and flexibility. Our work is funded through reader support. When you buy through our links, we may earn a commission. Read more about our story here.

Background

Jabra, a brand under GN (the same parent company as ReSound), has become a go-to choice for affordable, high-quality hearing aids at Costco. Their latest release, the Jabra Enhance Pro 30, brings meaningful upgrades in sound processing, Bluetooth performance, and app controls.

This is the newest generation of Jabra’s flagship Costco model, and it’s built on the same technology platform as ReSound’s premium clinic devices — offered  at Costco’s more accessible price point.

Our Review of Jabra Enhance Pro 30

Improved Sound Processing

The biggest leap forward in this generation is Jabra’s new dual-chip design. In addition to the standard sound processor, Jabra Enhance Pro 30 includes a second chip dedicated to background noise management using onboard artificial intelligence.

That second processor powers the new “Hear in Noise” program, which uses AI trained on over 13 million real-world speech samples. When activated, background noise drops noticeably, making conversations in restaurants, conferences, or other busy environments much easier.

While you won’t use Hear in Noise all day, it’s a powerful tool to switch into when things get loud.

Crisp, Assertive Sound Profile

Jabra and its sister brand ReSound are known for a bright, crisp, and assertive sound signature. If you value clarity and a sharper listening profile, this product delivers.

Other Costco options like Rexton lean more relaxed and natural, but Jabra emphasizes detail and articulation.

Discreet and Comfortable Design

Jabra Enhance Pro 30 sits neatly behind the ear, with a thin receiver wire that delivers sound into the canal. The device is among the smallest RIC devices on the market.

Rechargeable Battery Performance

Battery life is reliable and competitive. Expect up to 30 hours per charge — more than enough for all-day use, even with streaming.

The included portable charger makes overnight recharging simple: just drop the aids in before bed and they’re ready by morning.

Connectivity & Future-Ready Tech

Jabra Enhance Pro 30 uses Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) Audio, setting the stage for broader streaming compatibility in the future. It’s also Auracast-ready, which means you’ll eventually be able to stream audio directly from places like airports, gyms, or theaters as that infrastructure rolls out.

For everyday use, you’ll get straightforward Bluetooth streaming for calls, music, and media.

Built for Real Life Durability

Jabra Enhance Pro 30 has an IP68 rating which means these hearing aids can reasonably withstand dust and water exposure.

Jabra Enhance Pro App Experience

The companion app (iOS and Android) is one of the most polished in the industry. Key features include:

  • Two Core Programs: standard listening + AI-powered Hear in Noise.
  • Noise Filter & Speech Clarity: extra adjustments for cleaner or brighter sound.
  • Custom EQ: personalize bass, mid, and treble to your preference.
  • Save Your Own Programs: create presets for different environments.
  • Find My Hearing Aids: locate misplaced devices with a tap.
  • No Tinnitus Therapy: The Jabra Enhance Pro 30 does not include built-in tinnitus masking. For this feature, customers should consider the ReSound brand.

The app strikes a great balance between meaningful control and ease of use — powerful without being overwhelming.

Costco Hearing Aid Experience

One thing to know about Jabra Enhance Pro 30 is that it’s only available through Costco hearing centers.

That means:

  • Hearing test, fitting, and programming are all done in-store.
  • Follow-up adjustments happen at your local Costco clinic.
  • Pricing is typically ~$1,600 for a pair, making it one of the most affordable premium options available.

Some people love the Costco process for its affordability and convenience. Others prefer a traditional clinic model or at-home OTC care for more flexibility.

Our Overall Thoughts

The Jabra Enhance Pro 30 is a meaningful step forward from the previous Costco generation. With its AI-powered dual-chip system, Auracast readiness, reliable battery life, and crisp sound signature, it delivers impressive performance for the price.

We recommend this device for:

  • Shoppers who are comfortable with Costco’s in-store clinic model.
  • Those who value strong background noise management and crisp clarity.
  • Anyone looking for premium technology without the $4,500+ clinic price tag.

If you prefer in-clinic care, Jabra’s sister brand ReSound Vivia offers nearly identical tech through audiologists. If you’d rather avoid the trip to Costco, there are strong OTC alternatives like Sennheiser All Day Clear or Sony CRE-C20 available online.

Overall, Costco continues to be one of the best places to access advanced hearing technology at a fraction of the industry’s average price — and Jabra Enhance Pro 30 is a good option for 2025.

Pros 👍
  • Free hearing test for members.
  • Lower prices compared to similar products in clinic.
  • One loss or damage replacement for free (valid for two years).
  • Clean your hearing aids any time at Costco for free while you shop.
Cons 👎
  • More expensive than OTC alternatives.
  • Membership required.
  • Costco relies mainly on hearing aid dispensers rather than audiologists.
  • Requires regular in-person visits to Costco.
  • Phonak, Starkey, and Widex are not available at Costco.

Costco Process
+

Jabra Enhance Pro 30 is sold at Costco clubs throughout the U.S. Costco offers their members premium technology at discounted prices through their in-store hearing centers.

Costco’s hearing center staff are primarily hearing instrument specialists, although some Costco staffers are audiologists.

If you choose to work with Costco for your hearing care, you must schedule an appointment at a local store. Read our full review of the process here.

How to Choose a Style
+

Costco offers a range of hearing aid brands and styles. Around 85% of customers select a hearing aid that sits behind their ear (often called receiver-in-canal or RIC). RIC hearing aids have the most advanced technology and are generally more comfortable and less expensive.

Costco also offers some in-the-ear models, which some users enjoy for ease of handling and personal preference. Most in-the-ear models require an earmold which will be taken in a Costco Store and then shipped to the manufacturer to create a one-of-one hearing aid for you.

We suggest a behind-the-ear RIC style hearing aid for most first-time hearing aid wearers.
